i have been enjoying ideas about how to get some flex in the last foot of a board to increase turning speed, (this whole topic seems to be largely ignored by surfers + shapers), but could anybody say whether it would actually slow down a board for trimming speed? has anyone ridden on of those ‘flextail’ boards that had a prefab plastic stick on tail supposed to flex, seemed to a few in the early 80s? any comments on how they ride?

MOG, Thanks for the post. Just for your information, the topic of flex has been brought up in the forum before by none other than Fletch Chouinard himself. You can see the thread by clicking below. S http://www.swaylocks.com/discussion/archive/index.cgi?read=25
