Anyone have any experience using floating dock foam? Ive thought about trying it, but It seemed to soft, but with all the home depot foam being used, it got me to thinking,… anyone??
that’s what most big time guys are using…
It’s 2lb R-Control floatation block displacing 60lb/cu ft of material
usually 2’x4’x8’ if not bigger.
You just slice what you need from the block with a hotwire cutter
you can get quite a few blanks from a single block…
How much?
thinking about getting one myself…
better than glueing up some thin Home Depot stuff if the price is right…
thanks ror the reply, im going to pick up a hunk and do a test piece, I think they have it at my local lumber yard, Ill let you know the results.
Rfd from this bb builds boards that way with some friends. When I was making my first EPS board, that’s what he suggested. You might search his profile for an email address or send a pm - he doesn’t seem to be very active here these days. I think Haarvard also uses that stuff up in Norway, b ut I could be mistaken…
