I`m fully wondering if anyone has ever tried rough shaping the usual polyurethane blank and then cutting it up and then putting in lightweight sealed bladders or something tech like that filled to the max with helium in them before re-glueing and finish shaping the blank and then laminating it all up? But how much lightness could a board like that have? Helium could be the missing link. Dharmon, Inhalational Sciences University
I think you might end up with an extremely light and “floaty” board that would feel like a Surftech with flatulence. It would also lack the “drive” of a standard longboard. Perhaps just a little gas in the nose area would make it the first anti-pearl board!>>> I`m fully wondering if anyone has ever tried rough shaping the usual > polyurethane blank and then cutting it up and then putting in lightweight > sealed bladders or something tech like that filled to the max with helium > in them before re-glueing and finish shaping the blank and then laminating > it all up? THCU ! , more likely… and buried his face in his hands. He worries alot about us. Whatever THCU stands for? My sister gives me a dumb face, and mumbled something like the U stands for University, and I couldn’t hear or understand the rest of the THC input. I’ll ask the kids up the street. They say, they know everything. Helium Surfboards, sounds funny when you say it. The bladder could be filled to the Max?

Gas, flatulence, surftech, feel like, floaty… can we alll work together and try and keep this thread on surfboard design and not bodily functions? Dharmo n

Yes, perhaps just a little gas. Exactually the way it sounds, after dinner, out of my grandmother, when I’m sitting on her lap, in that old chair, every time she eats that coated vanilla ice cream. I could go on>

Sorry! Maybe in next years spelling tests. My dad told my mom, something about testing your theory, using the same sort of high performance Surftech, each time you test this experiment. for quality control, hows that for aserious? You can’t help it can you — Love you Dharmo n b /
once again the gas from Coral’s mouth poisons a good forum.
once again the gas from Coral’s mouth poisons a good forum. I seriously said helium, not methane. Hey I shouldn`t have asked. Even!

O.K. you are forgiven.
I seriously said helium, not methane. Hey I shouldn`t have asked. Even! Oh! don’t go away mad … just! If you can’t stand the heat … get! Checks and balances pal, my dad always says keep it comming … for some reason now my moms laughing.
why float when you can glide? make em longer, flatter and heavier. then getch yerselves some style i say this in jest of course the nice thing about swaylocks is that people can express things and poke fun at posts without others taking offence truly a nice place i do prefer either the heavy flat logs or the light flexible mats – hows that for dichotomy?
i can’t find “comming” on my spellcheck coral. could be you’re losing your edge. once you’re over 15 it’s all downhill. did you just have a birthday?
Just a simple observation…How come the Magic Man hasn’t posted anything since Coral showed up…could it be?
I say, go right ahead and experiment on this idea YOURSELF. You might have something here. Heavier isn’t always better. Just make sure your “bladder” can handle it. I guess it all “Depends”.>>> I`m fully wondering if anyone has ever tried rough shaping the usual > polyurethane blank and then cutting it up and then putting in lightweight > sealed bladders or something tech like that filled to the max with helium > in them before re-glueing and finish shaping the blank and then laminating > it all up? Hey when you finish building a helium filled surfboard dont travel by air with it. You may blow up the plane! However, a chambered foam surfboard with flexible air tubes that can be inflated/deflated via an exterior valve stem and a bicycle tire pump may be a simpler option to your idea. Only on Swaylocks!>>> I`m fully wondering if anyone has ever tried rough shaping the usual > polyurethane blank and then cutting it up and then putting in lightweight > sealed bladders or something tech like that filled to the max with helium > in them before re-glueing and finish shaping the blank and then laminating > it all up? Geeeeeez!!! I thought my question was going to be simple?? No wonder so many groovy ideas never happen. I guess I`ll just have to switch inhalants and build something cool by myself. Dharmon
