Foam painted swirls/abstracts

I have seen a couple of boards that have been painted on the foam to look like resin swirls or abstracts …How is this done? lots of acrylic paint and a squeegee? seems like the paint would be too thick?. the ones I have seen look nice , they look brighter, cleaner and more defined than a real resin tined swirl.

this is what is being discussed in the thread foam tints below.

though i would like to know how you really get them to stand out?

Hey Shipman-

Have you seen some of the Tudor boards at Mitch’s? I was wondering the same thing, because it appears on his boards that there are at LEAST two, if not three layers of colored resin somehow on his boards. You see a deep “base” color, then these perfect abstracts on top of that that are pristine, like they weren’t even squeegee’d at all, but just poured on top, and then maybe a clear coat ovr that…I sure would love to see how that’s done.

Pauluk I am not sure that is the same technic. the one I saw looked more like a full panel spray with one or two colors without reasin dripped over then squeegeed?

Tenover…I was just at Mitches in Solana Beach today… I saw the Tudors but I was more interested in the boards (forgot to look at the logo) that I saw that were paint only on the foam but looked like bright bold resin swirl but were as a resin swirls…The Tudor boards looked nice to…
