Getting ready to do a foam tint. I desided that instead of the fireball desighn i want to do a resin swirl sillouette of a halibat (since it is a fish). I got blue and green pigment from fiberglass hawaii. My question is how do i tape tight curves like around the nose of the fish? Why is it that foam tints don’t seam as rich in color deapth as actual lamination tints and is there anyway to get them looking that good? Any advise would be helpful.
I keep different width tapes around the shop.Narrow tape will make tighter bends. The reason foam tints look “flat” is because you loose the depth and light refraction that applies to fiberglass.Speaking of Fish on surboards, does any one remember the unreal resin tint and pinline fishes that Bill Brummet (or was it Gary?)did on the Surfboard Hawaii sticks back in the late sixties?Probably the best example of resin work I have ever seen.I wish somebody would post a pic. I wonder what happened to him???
