Good stuff, although not the best day. Ted has some excellent pics of there, land and water, he cut his teeth out there.
Don’t blame me, it was Josh who named it, not really a secret though, eh! Yeah Josh, I didn’t lose any, but I saw quite a few who did.

I’ve heard it still gets crowded on good days.
A friend Neil and I used to surf it a fair bit on onshore days. Usually only us, and generally a bit bigger and better shape than anywhere else on the rock.
Still scared shit out of me on bigger days.

I was just a wee intimidated grommet out there, but I watched the likes of Neil Luke, Matt Ryan and my old mate Peter “Kinga” Kingsbury get deeply barrelled before they’d hit a bottom turn off take-off.

Ben, tell Simon we’re really, really sorry, our ranting will attract more crowds.
Just to set the record straight for anyone thinking of visiting, it’s usually freezing cold down there, always onshore, really crowded, lots of sharks, hardcore locals, and never any swell. And not many girls, which is why it is commonly known as ‘Blokes Island’.
Not to mention the psychotic penguins, and Born-againers that yell “Halleuyah Brother” as they drop in on you…

if you want to check further footage by chase burns , he has a dvd called “stretching the canvas” …eli features in a couple of tubes in the water footage section [similar to the shots i posted on the ‘Chipper Files’ thread] ] . some of the beachbreak footage in that dvd is pretty incredible , too !!
