Forget progression, need regression?

Don't really know what to make of this....

I think its written by someone who needs to say something provocative to get published.  Someone who has little to no understanding of surfing.

We don't surf to see ourselves on television,  we do it for our own private reasons.  Myself, it's the joy of solitude and feeling the rush of nature.

I cringe to think of the prostitution that some would wish on us.  To turn us into pawns in their business model.  Magazines aren't published, and professional contests aren't organized with an altruistic desire to give anything to anybody.  They are only to profit their promoter.

Again, Surfline isn't after empty waves or life changing experiences,  their goal is to generate as many advertising dollars in as short a time as possible.

Surfing average waves is not a spectator sport… unless your another surfer or like looking at wet, half naked dudes.

Ahh, i dont think its written to anoy anyone, just a bit of entertaining banter. I especially enjoyed the part about fins, machetes and kickflip competitions!

i sensed a lot of sarcasm in that article...i personally love watching pros surf (lots of wasting time at work on the internet)...they can do things i cant do

ok so here we go...maybe they should change the judging criteria so every wave has to have a huge cutback, a floater, and an air...so now surfers with have routines like skaters and snowboarders and moto-x guys...maybe surfers should all be contest machines...then the sport would get more tv exposure...thats what we all want right?  (i think i just threw up a little in my mouth)

"Compared to the X-Games' major draws, watching surfing is literally like "watching old people f@#k." We lie on our boards in the missionary position......"

I'm very happy the X Games people don't like surfing...Growth in the surfing industry is bad for surfers. What we need is for the media to forget about surfing. Less people interested in surfing is a good thing for surfers. Think about it the next time you paddle out.....

Stingray- I couldn't agree more.

But truly, the rest of this article is bulls@(*)!!!

I think the author needs a liiiiife.
