Duplicate posts & page one only posts…
Its a glitch that came up in the past, and has returned. I have sent a message to the site owner, as he is the only one who can deal with it. Meanwhile, its very difficult to use the forum for much more than PMs or starting new threads. I assume threads with only one page are still functioning, once they hit two pages its glitch city. Bummer.
edited to add: this would be a great time to get caught up posting some new stuff in the Board Archive - I’ve put up a few things from my personal files in an attempt to prime the carburetor, but it really needs some fresh juice, I’m sure there are lots of guys with board pics, fins, diagrams, etc. that could be added.
Its a great resource, and only gets better the more it gets used.
Will posts made beyond page 1 today be lost?

Good question. Seems like last time around most posts did make it back, but I think huie lost several pages from his honesty thread, so only time will tell.

I’ve noticed in the last day or so that until I log in posts are duplicated. As I scroll down I see the same entry and wonder “Didn’t I just read that?”.
Also, I can now log in via a thread. For the past week or so, I could only log in via a link at the top right, and then had to step through three pages to return to the thread I was reading. That’s annoying.
Like mako said, this thing is really buggy
About halfway down the page I get the “add a new comment” box, then below that, posts above are repeated, but with different numbers, i.e. post 4 will repeat as post 11, then post 5 will follow as post 12, etc.
On threads more than one page, the posts from page one just keep repeating on every page, minus the opening post, and with consecutive numbering, meaning post 2 will re-appear on every page, but with a different number on each page.
Website code is fickle stuff!
It must have been caused by the up/down vote arrows and the mandatory 15-point system.

I am involved with software to an extent but my opinion is based on years of being a user of forum websites like this one. I’m not one to sugar coat things. Of all the web forums I’ve used over the years this one has the most glitches and bugs. Sorry but that’s my observation.
I don’t know how hard it is for you to change platforms but other forums that have less problems based on my observation would be vBulletin, Snitz, UBB, Simple Machines and Vbadvanced. Of those Vbulletin seems to be the nicest.
