Maybe its just a setting I need to adjust on this forum but when I press enter/return to get a new paragraph, the cursor goes back to the beginning, then you have to click underneath the paragraph to get that new space, and there is no spell check as you write.
1- I do not have the issue with hitting enter to start a new paragraph. Try using shift+enter
2 I do not have a problem with the lack of spellcheck, as I disable it on every device I own. It often tries to correct words that I know are right. I mean, I know how to spell, where spellcheck often gets it wrong.
-Still I think that we need: a button, like an arrow, at the end of every thread titles in the forum pages, so you can go to the last post; this is essential if the thread has several pages.
-After you do the comment, would be good to have a bottom at the bottom, to push to go back to the main forum page (titles)
There is a little tab that says “top” at the bottom of each post, click it and it will take you to the top of the page. At the top of the page there is a tab that says “last post” or “first unread”, these will take you to the latest postings.
…hello Huck, I do not want to go to the top, for what reason? If I do a comment I want to go back to forum main page (where s thread titles are located)
Then when I m in that main forum I want to go to the last comment on a particular thread, that s not occurs too. They send me to the last page, then I need to scroll down, etc; other forums are far better user friendly.
Then I decided to click the “last” button on the top of the main forum, then it sents me to old threads…
If you go back to the top of the page, you can click “general discussion”, which takes you to the forum main page where the thread titles are located.
If you click “last post” it will take you to the last post in the thread. If you click “first unread”, it will take you to the first post added since your last visit.
…the prove or evidence that this “last” button do not work is that in the thread about booties, you can see the member “Jamie” as the last post and the thread has 3 pages, so I clicked the last page but no Jamie s comment there…then I clicked the infamous last button and nothing happened; finally I decided to click in the second page, searched and the last post, the Jamie s post is there at the top of second page…
Do not work Mike and Huck.
Sometimes, the newest reply does not appear at the end. If you use the “reply” function to answer a particular comment within a topic, that reply will appear right after that which you are responding to. So, while the topic list will show a new comment by a certain person, their entry will not always be at the end.
This new format is glitchy, for sure. It’s also not very convenient for the lazy folks who can’t be bothered to do a little digging on their own.
I still don’t see a “quote” button. Does that stop me from quoting? Nope.
…I know that and that is not the point; computers are with us since long time; I started with them in early 80s with logo and basic languages, etc, so Im not lazy; but I can properly say that the fella that designed this platform, is not so smart.
I use the state owned company for the email service, recently they changed the platform for a “better one” in their opinion (but possibly, in the opinion of the seller…) this new platform is more complicated for the uninitiated or rookie; more steps; and do problems…but wait, is new and fantastic!..
—the right platform is the user friendly one: less clicks; less steps; fluidity and that have a well visualization.
reverb - the site has its problems and issues, I just try to work with it to the best of my ability. I have no more insight into the changes than anyone else, it just showed up one day on my screen same as it did on yours. Judging from the drop in new postings, I suspect there are a lot of people who find the changes frustrating / irritating. Nevertheless, I still find it a great resource for surfboard design and building, and will continue to come here as long as that is the case, in spite of all the inconveniences.
