As per some suggestions in the “how to improve swaylock’s?” thread, I’m doing a major overhaul of the forum searching functionality of the next couple of days.
You may experience slower processing times on the site and reduced search results untill it’s fixed.
Sorry about that, but it will be majorly WORTH IT!!

So I think I’ve officially FIXED the forums search.
Honestly, untill the weirdness was brought up in the improve Swaylock’s thread – I had no idea something was wrong. As it turned out, it ordered all search results chronologically, instead of by relevance. Absolutely useless. I’m suprised no one complained sooner.
Anyway, the search in now fixed – results are returned with the most relevant matches first.
Other improvements include:
New search results formatting – to look more like Google’s – which I’m sure some of you won’t like, but I do.
Highlighting of your search terms in the results and subsequent click throughs.
200 character snippets of the post in the results list to hopefully give you some idea of the post contents.
