Heh- gents, I’m right with ya, though I fortunately had some stuff in the freezer to get through, namely lamb chops. They were having a sale at the local market.
GF out of town, getting up early and deciding that it was a horrible idea, then crawling back into bed. Life is pretty good, actually. Forgot to lay in some fireworks, but that’s okay, it just means that I will continue to have the same number of digits I started with.
Now, time to grill a few more chops, I think. Bon appetit.

Heh- I have enough problems with using the gas grill and finishing with all the hair I started with, although that’s an ever diminishing quantity.

For me it’s an unfortunately named Boston Butt roast on the gas grill today…been smoking over hickory chips for about 4.5 hours now…needs a couple of hours in an oven and a rest period before carving…plenty of time for a patriotic viewing of “One Crazy Summer”, the often neglected low-budget summer action masterpiece starring Bobcat Goldthwaite and other people like John Cusack and Demi Moore. It’s all about giving the finger to abusive authority and power mongers once in a while, right? And it even has a multicultural “green” motif, what with Godzilla making a special appearance.
Since I took the nap this morning, after dinner tonight we’ll load up the dog and go to the beach. I’m figuring as it gets late everybody will be drunk driving home to watch fireworks and beat the traffic (insert prayers here). We’ll park it by a patrolled state beach and skip the fireworks and terrified dog syndrome. Fireworks start at 9 in my part of California, but it’s light late, so if there is half a chance I might get in the water first. And leftovers when we get home.
