The Fred tool does work, but not such a miracle worker like peple believed. One, you have to count and count that you are putting the correct pressure on every stroke. The eye and feel is probably the best. The nice thing about using a planer for the tuck is that you can really see your depth ang angle and then once your single(a single 45 degree actually works for a radius type tuck)then screen it. I don’t like the idea of screwing to opposing blades either for a back and forth cut etc. What other things does 101 have that aren’t understandable or that you do different that JC… He is a great craftsman, but I would like to know what tool really makes shaping easier. Here is my contribution. I make rail templates for check rail symmetry. Swaylocks should have a shapers home made tool otr specialty tool section. They have posted a rail band guide line jig…I know people have talked about making templates with fishing poles…there has to be other tricks and tools for us to share. Lets make sure not to make it a fishing pole extravaganza!
