so , the background again ...
it started life , via being donated by my neighbour , 'roadkill john' , as a roadside-find 6'3" winged pintail , channel bottom , single-fin [as seen on the aforementioned thread].
the first step was to re-template it . [but, after i had stripped the glass off it , about 2 1/2" of tail came away , due to the tail's thinness and the channels]
after re-templating , we filled the channels with 'spackle'.
we ended up narrowing the tail a bit too.

my mate ['thing'] did a great job working on the rails , putting vee in the bottom , and managed to get a bit more tail and nose rocker into it too. THANKS, heaps , Sir !
The intention is to ride it as a single fin [although , admittedly, i have only done that twice so far , choosing to do 'widowmaker' setups the other times , and once as a twinny, which took a bit of getting used to !! ]
then it was spray time [i went with rattlecans]. the bottom was a slightly different colour , due to the areas of 'spackle'.
we glassed it together and lammed the 'swaylocks inspired' logo hicksy designed
next came the two probox side plugs [the first time he or i had installed that system on a board ...we don't get them much here in west oz...so , THANKS, guys for sending a pair ! much appreciated !]
then the board was sanded .
the dimensions ?
c.14"nose x 6' 1" x 20" x 14"tail [the 'pod' is about 5" ] x c. 2 1/2 thick [i'd like to do the next one thinner ...with the bog on the bottom , it ended up heavy ....hence , i kept it [ so far , at least ! ] as only a one/two/three fin setup option.] so far i have made five fin panels for it. twin keels , twin fins , thrusters , and of course ...er ..."unusual " / hybrids " fins"
the original board had quite nice rocker , as far as ?mid-to-late 70s? single fins here went [a lot of the others i have seen as roadkill were flattish with AWFUL rails , and foil !]
....to be continued .....
cheers !
