so fedex delivered my latest epoxy shipment and all the addative F was frozen. i let it thaw out but there seems to be some kind of sediment in the bottom. has this ever happened to anyone? is it ruined now?
any suggestions on gettingthe sediment out? heat it maybe?
It’s fine. Shake it up, let it get warm. Warm like 78-80, 2-3 hrs outside. Then check, it should be clear like water
outside?? im in jersey brutha, its 45 here today and 38 degree water temp. it was toasty as hell inside a gaping slab i pulled into last weekend though.
http://www.localswell.com for all the dirty jerz swell pics.
thanks for your help though, ill make a water bath and shake it up.
mo’ tussin, MO’ TUSSIN!

Woo! Right.Sorry to hear that. We get snow and Africa hot here too in San Diego…we just don’t live in it. Best to put it on top of the hot water heater for a few hours then. Just make sure it’s not leaking or gassing. Also, where do you do your glassing if it’s so dam cold? And if it’s in the garage & semi cold, how good does the glass job turn out? I can see the RR looking all white and gooey right now.
ha, ‘sorry to hear that?’ we get that a lot along with ‘what exit you on.’ jersey, in contrast to popular belief actaully has gorgeous beaches and over 100 miles of beautiful sandbar breaks that pump in the right seasons, just check the link in the previous post. my hometown acutally was rated as the cleanest beach in the northeast for a few years now.
i acutaly built a room in my basement with studs, 5mil plasic a masonite floor i can take out when it getts too covered with resin, a huge canister vacuum hooked to the power planer and a modified AC unit to suck out air for ventilation. i did have to put a space heater in there in the deep of winter, but lucky it was after i did a small ding. ive done 3 boards down there now, each on better then the previous. i love my ‘circus’ as it was referred to in a post a few weeks back.
thanks for our help, but if it ruins by glass, im blaming it all on you.
Run the tap water hot. Fill a bucket up 8 inches deep. Drop the additive F can in the warm water. Let it sit for a while, shake periodically, its all good.
BTW, if you are gonna glass when it is cold with RR epoxy, heat the epoxy resin (not hardener) up using similar methods so it is not too thick to mix properly. You can actually get a bad set if the resin is too cold and it doesn’t mix with the hardener well.
Now, what exit did you say you lived on, and what jetty do you surf next to?
ha, thats it. exit 34 on the garden state parkway, surf a right even though im goofy called waverly. except for the summer when its obscenely packed and i hide in AC or strathmere when it gets big.
thanks for the help guys.
Whale Beach is fun… I’ve hit up Longport, Ventnor, Margate a few times… Lived in Brig for a while… Got some good waves in AC a long, long time ago… Learned to surf in Cape May, and still head down there for the N’Easters… the Cove is sick (as a goofyfooter, you know)…
Up here in Long Branch, Sandy Hook, Deal now… (Exit 105)… and we get some MACKERS.
