future fins installation

I just got a Future system installation kit from my good lady and it came without instructions. Anyone know of the location of some good blow by blow instructions? The business we got it from is gonna be closed over christmas. By the way, Happy Christmas.

Future fins are east as all heck. I never use any jig or templates or anything. All I do is flip the box over and trace and rout by hand. Never had a problem and they always come out looking like a pro did them. More a testament to the desgn of the fin system than my own askill though. But if you are steady, then you will have no problem.

There is some on this is in the archives Check your measurements twice and you can route freehand if you’re good with a router… but you need to be sooo careful on the stringer - very easy to slip too far into the foam. Remember that the top of the flange of the box must sit level with the bottom of the board. When routed out, you tape off the screw–hole and box slot and the box is set/glued in with lam resin. Then you laminate over it. Future reccomends 2 football patches over the box before laminating - I was advised to use the patches over the Lam layer - which makes sense to me. Hot coat. Then you sand over the slots (they stick up a bit on each edge) to expose/open the slots and screwhole and you are done. Another bit of advice I got was to plug the screw holes with q-tips dipped in wax. good for the threads and fits the hole perfectly. Post the board when your done…!
