Future of aerial boards??

With flex in boards becoming an important step in surfboards surely someone is experimenting with reverse rocker

on boards?

I know from my spong bobbing days, my boogies that had reverse rocker, not reverse rocker as in more tail less nose, but actual reverse banana. with a nose lift

where way more poppy for airs and also had the ability to crack into unbroken waves a lot earlier.

Snowboards also have reverse rocker and if they have the right amount of flex will pop much larger airs than flat boards.

So is anyone experimenting with this idea out there?

Although dropping into hollow waves would probably be extremely difficult, nose lift would be needed imo,

reverse tail rocker is where the main fucntion would be. only if the board has the right flex though.

And more importanty, would it work?

i prefer no flex in my boards...........yes it should have some minor spring..........but no flex.

the best thing i ever added to my boards that increased ariels/air time and control was the advent of a kick tail.

yup, you read it right,a kick tail ............just like a skateboard.

I’ve done one with a reverse rocker area just in front of the fins, to about the middle of the board.  Otherwise it was conventional.  It gives a boost in speed and looseness in small waves,  Over waist high waves, it becomes unstable.

See this pro build: http://www2.swaylocks.com/forums/extr0vert

and my noob build one here: http://www2.swaylocks.com/forums/semi-inverse-tail-rocker-anybody-done-it

Lots of v.helpfull input from lots of pro's.

Yorky has a DEEEEP concave through the "reflex" (Wildy et al.) While I have the channels. Yorkys board is better.

Interesting question about experimenting with design.

With the market consuming mainly Thrusters, do you think that GSI will command a  dominant position similar to Ford / Toyota or GMC with the hand surfboard makers becoming the bespoke manufacturers like Ferrari ?

And as for experimentation, that will almost dissappear except for super niche labs for small markets like foil or tow surfers..

Certainly the GSI experimentation the the Wegener Seaglass and Meyerhoffer boards wouldve scared them away from further 'experiments'?
