garage clean-up

Getting ready to start to shape my first board

One quick question

What do you do with all the waste

It's going to be a PU blank and I know

they are not very environment friendly

I don't want to be part of the problem!

i heard something about PU foam dust being put into asphalt as filler.

i think i read it in the most recent issure of Surfing Mag... Matt Biolos of ...Lost was doing it.

i know that's not much to go on. i might be able to find the mag...

you can save big scraps for ding repairs, put the dust in a sock or stocking and make a “pickle” for cleaning wax off boards.

That is a really good idea - save yourself $14 and clean up - nice =]

I once tried to use foam dust for cat litter. It was a no go. The cat shit in my closet instead.

lol.

only you would do that, clean.

you can store some in a bucket and use it to soak up resin/oil/etc.

the finer material can be spread over the lawn.it helps keep the soil moist, and is found in,believe it or not… in most potting soils,as vermiculite has gotten very expensive.

lastly…once the resin is gone off…it’s a solid,so it’s not toxic any more and can be added to regular trash.

I just pile all my stuff in the alleyway and burn it.

If your worried about the tiny waste you make from making a surfboard don't do it. You car does more to harm the enviroment that making a surfboard on a daily basis. So please don't get all puratanical and Nemo Hippy over it,

Lighten up and enjoy your build!
