Gary Propper Nose Rider Model

I'm new here. I have a question. I have an original  vintage Gary Propper Nose Rider Model that I bought in 1966. It's 10ft. and was custom made for me with three redwood stringers.
I'm thinking of selling it because of back problems. It's "like new". No damage and in great shape. See attached photos. What do you think it's worth?
If you email me (senseikelly@optonline.net) , I can email you 19 pics of my board.

lol, good one.  I emailed for link, I'll post some pics up if he sends me the link.  BTW, your comment reminds me of my old boss, his favorite was "its not rocket scientry" - and he didn't even realize thats not a word, he just thought it made him sound smart.

Whats it worth I'll give ya $100 bucks hell it's old. Since it was made for you might not work for anyone else. I'm willing to risk $100.

Huck hope you don't get a mail box full of spam.

Thanks for posting the pics. I have a computer problem and couldn't do it.

I guess this isn't a serious website.

Sorry but people have been known to not really be forthcoming when posting something that says go to my web site.

What makes you believe this is a Gary  Propper model. I Don't see anything that indicates a Gary Propper sch as logos and or the board graphics that I believe were used on all Proper models.

SammyA would know.

Yes. No sign of any lams that state it’s a Propper model. To my knowledge, there was never a “Gary Propper Noserider” made by Hobie. The Propper model of that period had a distinct color band around the nose and a t-band stringer with colored foam in the center. You could get it as a squaretail or a pintail. Hobie was making a noserider model at that time but it had no association with Propper. Gary was still riding for either Surfboards Hawaii or Greg Noll when Hobie came out with their Noserider.

In fact, the color scheme used on the Propper Model was later adopted for the Pan Slug. At least, the nose band.

This is what a 1967 Gary Propper Model looks like. If it doesn’t have the Hobie diamond with Propper’s name inside it, it is just a stock Hobie.

As I recall, there was no Propper model in '66. In fact, I think he was still with the Greg Noll team that year. The ad above is from early '67, which is pretty much when the board debuted.

SammyA, is right on with the board history/riding of GP, board in question was before GP on the Hobie Team, that Dick Catri made up of old Surfboard Hawaii Team Members in Cocoa Beach.
GP model did have the distinctive band at the nose–later copied for the Peter Pan Models. GP also had the Eastern Star and the GP Wedge and twins at the end of his Hobie rides using MM shaping logo Positive Force,…but here’s a nugget on e-bay that as an old Cocoa Beach Hobie team rider I don’t recognize-

Aloha, Randy

Looks like a sawed-off version of the GP Wedge. That oddball diamond tail indicates it’s a V bottom, and the GP logo is the same style as The Wedge used. It is probably a very late version of The Wedge, since it looks to have the Hobie fin system with the ‘dog bone’ box and bolt thru deck. Hobie switched to WAVESET shortly after the V bottoms went out of fashion.

So what we have isa stock nose rider production board Any idea of what the value would be in the current market?

Back in the day i had a Hobie " Super light" It was advertised as the lightest production surfboard at that time.  If i recall it was just under 24 lbs.

Those superlights were ahead of their time. I ogled one that had a really flat deck and a squeegee hot coat top (i called them textured decks). it was shaped by Terry Martin.

The shop that had the Hobie let me trace a template and I went right to my shop an copied it. They rode great but dissapeared within a few months. I have a pintail Propper model with super knifey rails. It was shaped by Ralph Parker. I got a  dogbone fin and screw on ebay. Mine doea not have the nose band logo but it does have the big triangle Hobie/propper laminate and blue foam t band. I am pretty busy so I may sell it. I have $250 in the board and fin. If you want it give me a shout. I am in Savannah,GA.

Post some photos My sister is in Myrtle Beach so we drive by Savannah often, stay in Buford when it gets to late to do the whole leg.
