I wonder how easy the glue lines shape and sand…
Interesting Idea - I’d try one… Gives me some ideas as well…
I would prefer the DIY route - light blank with HD rails and or reinforcement patches, or heavy blank with selected areas carved out and filed with lighter foam…
Yeah, easier to just start hacking on a premade blank. Then again do you want 2 glue lines, 4 glue lines, 40 glue lines?
That’s interesting… I was thinking about removing a front section from a normal blank and putting in lighter foam for swing eight redution without surface area redution of the nose. But this takes that way farther.
Now my question is: if the tail has a lower density foam to create flex, wouldn’t it dent easier or require more glass to not dent? Which may or may not hinder the flex that the low density foam enabled in the first place? Unless the glass won’t stiffen the board as much as the lower density foam will make it flexible. I don’t know much about flex control, just thinking out loud.
