Getting back on the wagon - just me babbling

I am goingdown to galveston in a few weeks. This will be so much fun, but I absolutely know I will take a monster wipe out. I havnt seen water in over 4 months and will be so hard to “get back on the wagon”. I know surfing is like “riding a bike” you never forget, but last time I got back on my bike, I hit a curb and went over the handle bars. luckily surboards dont have handle bars…hmmm… shaping revolution? lol. but atleast it will feel good to get back on a board. although ive never surfed anything below 9’, this 7’ thruster I made will be a challenge. guess I have to learn some day. o well, thanks for listening.

Beware the rails and/or fins popping up between your legs…the surfing concept wipe out is perhaps the most universal and easily translatable sports verbage ever.

Oh man will you have some problems. You are talking about going from driving a pinto to driving a mustang. (a 7’ is as good as a ferrari)

You have some learning to do because 2’ make a big difference when learning to catch waves and learning to ride them.

Just a thought,

Ty

Im well aware that ive been riding station wagons and old clunkers for ever, but its high time that I learn to ride shortboards. Ive been putting it off for along time. maybe you can give me pointers while im down in galveston. then ill give you some pointers at skim boarding and getting those clear parasites out of places they dont belong (sea lice… if you surf galveston you know what im talking about) … lol.

Sounds good to me. I have never really had that chance to skim board but i have seen those on FUEL that hit those huge waves that break on the sand in certain parts of the world.

Super cool.

If we go skim boarding it will have to be at surfside… if I can find pics, ill show u the 14 stitches i got from galveston skimboarding… I fell into aton of shells and tore up my forearm

do you have any friends who would like to go surfing that week im down? it would be cool to get a part down at the beach going
