Getting rid of the rough finish

Hi all,

Just finished repairing an old single fin for a mate (10 dings, including the biggest gouge ever!) Most of the repairs were white against his green spray on foam (bottom) so I mixed a green and sprayed it over the top and then sealed with an acrylic laquer (flattening agent added). Everything is looking great. One thing though as this is the first time I’ve done this - the finish is pretty rough to touch. Can I hit this with say 800 or 1200 wet and dry? By the way, there is no gloss coat, I’ve left it at the hot coat. Thanks for the advice

Chris

Yes. You don’t even have to go that fine. Just match what it feels like with a dusty hand. Said and done.

Sometimes a dusty hand is the best pair of eyeballs you have.
