I’ve resurrected an older 7-8 for summer use. It currently has a back foot traction pad that I want to remove and have just the fiberglass. Is there a recommended way to 1) get the stuff off easily and without lifting the glass away from the foam? and 2) get rid of the residues left behind? Thanks.

You will need the following: 1. Hairdryer 2. Putty knife (the plastic ones are better for this) 3. paint thinner or some type of solvent (not too strong or you will eat thru the glass) 4. plastic scouring thing for the dishes Use the hair dryer to heat up the adhesive on the bottom of the pad. Once it is soft and plyable use th putty knife to get under the pad and seperate it from the deck. Continure this a few inches at a time until you have the pad off. there will be some residue still on the deck; this is where you use the scouring thing and solvent. Get the deck slik and clean so your new wax will adhere correctly.
3M makes some adhesive remover, uses citric acid, works excellent on anything gummy like that just have to make sure it doesnt react with the glass or anything Nick>>> I’ve resurrected an older 7-8 for summer use.
