getting the white out

I’ve done a dark blue board and in a 2’ area there is a kajillion tiny pinholes with white dust in them. you all know what I’m talking about. it usually comes out with a good shot of air but it’s not working on this one. any tips or tricks for the stubborn dust?

Vegetable oil.

…or a high pressure nozzle,and hose.Herb

Is it really dust?Could be pin air if you are talking about the lamination.

yeah, it’s pin air that dust got jammed into from sanding the hotcoat. I’d like to get it out cause I’m going to gloss. unfortunatly, I’ve got the OSHA approved, non-modifiable air nozzle. vegetable oil???

You might try thinning out some resin and squeeging the heck out of it on the problem area.In the future when you get pin air try this trick before the resin is totally cured, maybe better lighting would help.Good luck. R.B.

If high pressure air won’t do it, I’ve had luck with smearing in some styrene with a small paintbrush. It’s thin enough to get into the holes and soak the dust so it disappears, and is compatible with resin.

Doug’s right Styrene works well.
