having developed them, they are polyester.
polyester
given them a light sand in a spot and have a sniff to validate
most if not all popular fiberglass in the market are polyester
it does its job much cheaper than other resins
Fiberglass lay-up fins are poly
The RTM and/or “cored” fins are most likely epoxy.

Depends on which fins you are talking about, but all of our Performance Glass (PG) and Performance Core (PC) fins are made with polyester resin. Only our Ultralight Epoxy (FG3, FG5, FG7 & H2) fins are made with epoxy resin.

Ron

Ah, I stand corrected. I thought those were epoxy (never had to sand them down or “test” them)… thanks for the info!
FCSeast- I have a set of chipped-up CRV’s on the way that are in need of some touch-up… are those epoxy or poly (I was always taught that one should use epoxy and not poly when using carbon fiber, so I am assuming epoxy, but thought it would be good to verify with someone in the know)?

Hey Guys-
Polyester should work fine for both of your projects.
