Glass on fin choice

I’m going to be making an 8’ 6" that will be a big wave board. Not a full on gun, but something like a Murphy Regulator or similiar. Tail around 14", width around 21 3/4" I think. I want to put glass on fins on it. It’s for San Diego surf, SS cliffs mostly. I know there are a lot of fins out there, any suggestions? thanks

if its almost 22 wide, go with a big center fin, 9" or so, and side boxes.

Or bring the width down.

Thanks Keith, I was originally thinking tri fin but maybe the 2+1 might be better. At what width would a trifin be best. thanks again

I don’t know about “best” but for where you are talking about surfing, I would be thinking more like 21" wide and a 13" tail with three fins, i.e. something just a tad narrower the whole way back. Nothing wrong w/ a bigger center fin though.
