Hey…working on glassing my first board…
I just laminated the fins on…but then realized that I didnt think whether the resin should have the wax drops in it? Have I just made a big stuff up? I went ahead and filler coated them anyway…

sounds like you are fine… the wax is to make the resin get harder/easier to sand. If you did a filler or hot coat on top of it, THAT should have the wax in it. On the other hand if your first layer had wax in it, you need to sand it to get the wax off, or the next layer won’t stick…if that makes any sense.
Yea it all turned out fine in the end …Just a small moment of panic…haha…
Thanks for the reply

no problem, you should post a photo or two when you’re done! Congrats on your first one, it’s a great feeling when you get to surf that first wave on your own board.
that’s your first board? that looks great! how’s it surf? Looks like fun…
Good job for your first set.
Ditto. For future reference any time you are laminating fiberglass it should be done with laminating resin. Wax/hotcoat is used as a topcoat to make the resin sandable. Nice job!
