glassing a tinted nose concave

i checked the archives, not much there,i just finished up a deep black-cherry tinted 9’6". i had problems when it came to the nose concave. the cloth kept bubbling up along the edge of the concave. any tips to help me get that concave smooth and even for next time…??

Sounds like the transition between the concave and the regular bottom has to be smoother and less abrupt, so the lam can stick.

You can create hard edges with hot and gloss coats, and fill in glass coats, so slightly round the transition next time.

Kinda like hard tail rails…don’t make it with the shape, make it with the glassing and sanding.

hey teddy,

do you store your squeegees in acetone at all times? sounds kinda off the wall but if could be your squeegee was too stiff to make the wrap around the edges. just an idea.
