With a lot of help from the discussions in this forum, I just finished shaping my first board and I am ready to glass it. Unfortunately, shaping it caused enough problems with my neighbors (small apt. bldg.) so I have decided to have someone else glass it. I live in Redondo Beach and was hoping that someone could recommend a good (quality and price) glasser. The board is a 7’0 thruster and I plan on installing the Red X fin system. Thanks in advance.

Glasser doesn’t have to be in the South Bay - I am willing to drive to find someone who can do a good job and is willing to put in the Red X fins. Thanks.
T, I live in Redondo as well. I have all my boards glassed at Shoreline…they’re in Hap Jacobs’ shop and do all his glassing as well…here’s the info: 8th and Valley in Hermosa Tel: 374-4098…they hardly ever answer the phone, so you should just show up. As for Mike (Collins). I’ll try to find the exact address for you, but you should be able to look it up under Hap Jacobs Surfboards. They are the best value in the southbay. They’ve been doing it for decades. If you don’t feel like going with them for some reason, try Brog (pronounced “brogue”) off of Artesia, I can’t remember the cross street right off hand. He’s a nice guy and does great work, but more expensive than Shoreline. One other option is Roland surfboards…at Secret Spot surf shop off PCH near Ave. D. He specializes in more performace-oriented boards. May be a little cheaper, but it will probably take a month to get your board done. Shoreline is pretty busy right now, so expect to wait a few weeks. But they’re the best. Tel them the guy from d.b. planks sent ya.
try my cousin scott anderson’s shop in the marina del rey. it’s called aquatech, they’re phone number is 310 578 5860. you’re best bet is just to stop by, i don’t think they answer their phone all the time either. their address is 4065 Glencoe Av.

They showed me a board they had done (tri-fin longboard) with a Red X system. It looked great! Very clean and tight looking. Nice system Tom!

I will post pics of the board after it is glassed. Strangely, I have a feeling that this will not be my last garage shape - I’m hooked.

He will do a very good job at a resonable price.310-834-6772
