glassing over fcs

My friend, when sanding the hotcoat, sanded too much arounded the box. Without thinking, I decided to glass from the fcs plugs over the entire tail section. I should have just capped the box. Anyways, I glassed 1 6 oz., then hotcoated and had it sanded. When I went to rout out the fcs screw holes and tab box, the glass started pulling up on the plug. I’m thinking this is not good because eventually it will start to delam over that tail section. We decided to tape off around the plug and sand the fcs plugs, and hopefully it won’t pull up. Anybody have any better suggestions? Thanks- ryan

When you lam your board, put patches under the glass where the FCS plugs go,and patch the deck side over the FCS plugs as well, this will give you some sanding room,as well as a stronger set.Herb.
