You can not use Polyester resin to lam on an EPS blank, and you can NOT Lam with sanding resin.
Hi sk1mm3r, welcome to Swaylocks.
There is a lot of knowledge and useful information here.
I’ve noticed that you are asking questions that have been answered many times before.
Type your quesion or the keywords from your questions into this box:
at the top right of your screen… Do some reading and you will find your answeres… If you are having trouble finding things with that, type in your question or keywords to your questions at google.com . When the search results come up, scroll to the bottom of the page and click “advanced search”. Then, under “website” type in swaylocks.com…
Hope that helps. People are more likely and willing to help people who are willing to help themselves.
EDIT: also, there is a “FAQ, Beginners area, Read First Sticky Thread” at the top of the page. That looks like a good place to start too.
To answer your questions: NO!!! and NO!

i remember when i used to work at a surfboard factory and we sent a bunch of blanks to a glasser and the next day he gave us a call and tells us the board numbers for a board so we can start shaping a new one because this one( an eps blank) got mixed up with the poly boards and basically disintegrated while trying to glass with poly resin, funny thing is he called in about an hour later cause he did the same thing again to a different board
so ya i would not do that if i were you
yeah new to site, new to shaping too, thanks for help…sounds like a bad idea…
You would expect any glasser with some experience to be able spot the difference in foam. Poly and EPS look very different to the naked eye. Whoever did that just wasn’t paying attention.
I recall in my early days of ding repair mixing a batch of PE resin in a styrofoam coffee cup. Turned around for a second, and when I turned back the cup had melted and the resin was running off the shelf and onto the floor. Didn’t make that mistake, again.
