I am considering adding another layer of fiberglass to an existing board, some people have told me it will make the board to heavy. Does it really matter when compared to the weight of the board with me on it?

The question I can’t help asking is: “Why?”
The board is getting a lot of pressure dings and it has not been used more than 20 times or so. My rationale is to revitalise this board instead of getting a new board.
start searching for “deck patch”

I ended up putting one on a longboard. It made it a bit heavier, but not enough for me to notice in the water. If I hadn’t I would have ended up later on having to grind down two of the stringers that were beginning to pop up due to foam compression.
That was last summer; the patch has held up pretty well ever since.
