Got a request for some unique artwork on a custom board. Never really used posca pens before, just want to know if I can gloss directly over the posca work? Will it run? Any ideas / advice will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Craig.

Hi Gill
I’ve used tham a few times on sanded hotcoat for outlining artwork that’s painted on the foam and also for pinlines. Glossed over without problems - only thing to watch is if you use for pinlining makie sure you sand quite fine as the posca can bleed along scratches from sanding under you masking tape - I sand the pinline area quite fine - to about 600 before taping up and I have now switched to a plastic tape - the kind that butchers use to seal their plastic bags - and then back it up with masking tape. The butchers tape allows you to bend round in a single curve real tight - also lays down very flat.
Cheers
Rich
The styrene in gloss resin can make some of the Poscas colors run. A good way to avoid this is to seal the art by spraying a coat of matte medium or Future over it. Let the coat completely dry and then lightly sand it with a fine scotchbrite pad or 400 grit wet -n-dry sand paper so the gloss resin has a nice uniform surface to bond to.
