Glue Products

Hi, if there are South Florida folks around I’d like to find out if anyone has ordered blanks from Glue Products in West Palm, and if there is anywhere else in the area that might stock blanks as well…? I’m talking to them about the 10.1.Y and the 7.3.B blank and they mark them up some (the 7.3 Becker is $80). Any alternatives or is it just GP, or Clark in Melbourne? I’ll be 2+ hours from Clark and less than half that from GP/West Palm. Anyone sell blanks closer to the Ft.Pierce/Stuart area? Thanks, Eric J

As far as I know, they are the only one’s besides Clark foam in Melbourne.

Get them from G.Loehr in Indian Harbor Beach,131-tomahawk dr. IHB,32937 #321-779-2369 .You won’t be sorry…

Thanks Sylvia and Steve. IHB is even further than Melbourne from where I’ll be. I guess I’ll stick with GP blanks for now (unless other avenues open up), but use I’ll RR epoxy. best, Eric J

IHB and Melbourne are right next to each other,if you are using the RR epoxy…why not the blanks? Regards…

Sean, Blanks usually cost an arm and a leg to ship. Resin is cheap to ship by comparison. The resin would ship from RR. The blanks from GP I can pickup on my way to the house from the airport in WPB. I’m also not interested in having to spackle eps/edro since I’m thinking of a tinted lam. Fine sanding the clark blank will be enough. … and I don’t have any info on the RR blanks at all. Do they stock a 10’ blank, or a 7’3"? How much, what rocker/stringers etc.? Is there a catalog? For some reason I thought that all the RR blanks were custom orders? More info please. GL if you are watching, I emailed you about the epoxy. If you have standard blank costs and shipping info I’d be interested in getting that as well. Thanks, Eric J

Yes we have blanks of all sizes. They are custom to a point. We usually take an order and then fill it. It takes a couple days. We can’t stock all our sizes. There are at least a hundred and then all the different stringers…

Hey Eric, how does the spackle affect the tinted lam deal? Just curious as I am finishing one at the moment and was contemplating a tint for it…does it make it “spotted”? Thanks…

Greg, Thanks, and I got the email info as well. … Sean, I havn’t worked with EPS before but I’ve heard (here) that with EPS foam, spackle is used to fill the voids between the cells after final shaping so that the surface is even overall. My understanding is that an uneven surface will take more tint and resin to fill the void, thus creating a different density of color in that spot. I think it’s the same idea as leaving scratches in a regular Clark/PU blank, when tinting those scratches will show up. On PU blanks I’ve filled dings/reparis with spackle and they are visible after painting or tinting. The spackle has a different surface texture than the foam which can be seen. Not always very noticible, but it shows. Eric
