Good deal on a Router?

I dropped by Sears today with the plan of picking up a trim router, to do my first fin boxes (only glass ons to date) and stumbled on this combo DEEPLY on sale.

Craftsman Professional 12.5 amp Fixed/Plunge D-Handle Combination Router

I figure it will more than serve my needs and is a good enough deal to share.

Looks like a good deal.

my .02 - if you plan on doing foam installs of Future, FCS Fusion & non vacuum LokBox, a good quality trim router is the way to go

Couldn’t get a look at it on that page. But you can’t go wrong with the Porter Cable combo(no “D” handle) for a high end router. Hitachi has a similar combo that I haven’t used yet, but looks like a good set up. I’ve got a Ryobi laminate trimmer that I use for side-bites and small boxes. Porter Cable also makes a nice one for a few bucks more. I can see the advantage of a “D” handle, but it is all in what you are used to.

None in San Diego…:frowning: and they would not give me a raincheck either…must be a clearance item.

this one’s pretty cool for a cheepo
