looking for some vids that focus on the riding of fishes…

None of these are exclusively Fish vids but have great fish footage none-the-less:

Searching for Tom Curren: “Fryed Fish Experiment” section is interesting - Fish or no fish, this is just a great film!

Litmus: Great footage of Derek Hynd at J-Bay again on a Skipp Frye - again, just a great film

Glass Love: More fish, Skipp Frye himself shaping a fish, a few different fish shapes, a “winterstick” fish

Sprout: Another good movie with some good footage.
… And keep an eye out for a movie called Hydrodynamica which is in progress - this movie will trace the history of the fish right back to Bob Simmons.
I’m sure there are others, but these are the ones that really come to mind.

There is also a short segment on Chords of Slater, Paen, and one of the Malloy brothers riding fishes at Jeffries. Malloy really stands out. Mike
It’s Dan Malloy I believe and that is a pretty smoking piece of footage. Slater looks a tad uncomfortable but those boys are going all out. Some classic high speed surfing there.
Check out 5’ 5" x 19 3/4 from lost. Tons of fish riding and the master curren on some greenough assisted alternative shapes. All others mentioned especially sprout has excellent fish riding footage. Go to the extras section on that flick, and they show fishes, discs, and displacement hulls also. I’m not a huge lost fan, but they have a free clip of Chris Ward on a MR twin and single in dredging mainland Mex. Fish ahoy…

First and least: Youtube.com has some stuff of this guy on a red fish in the Great Lakes, wearing what looks like about 35 pounds of rubber, riding a huge groveller fish on 2 footers, doing pretty cool stuff.

kanegarden.com used to have some quicktime vids on their news and events page, but they haven’t worked for a while–those were really good
I’ve seen that Hynd fish footy and its amazing–also the Hydrodynamica clip is AMAZING

sorry–dunno what they did with it–also don’t know if that is Slater, but it’s fun to think so–also sorry if you don’t care for DF’s neo-70’s hippy music, which I don’t all that much but hey
If you can find an old copy of Going Surfing by Bud Brown there is some good footage of David Nuuiwha ( how ever you spell that surname). He is ripping a little Dyno fish at Rocky point on a windy day, no leash as it should be ridden. this is shot around 1973 and is flying makes Rory look slow. The is also other rides of his at Huntington on a fish waves are not great but he is doing fine, I think the movie is Fluid Drive.
