Are they claiming those shots were taken on Monday? I’m skeptical. Also, what is a “solider”?

skeptical a bit as well but what other days have we had recently. also, everytime i see same day pics of hammer and crew down there it always looks bigger and heavier. regardless of the day, great surfing and pics. jersey 1 day swells, yay!!! not…

Its always bigger at this spot and its also a wave not ment for mere mortals.  Every time I've checked it its not makable but it sure makes for good film especially on the one out of 20 waves that is made.

I'd actually rate this as heavier than Pipe at equal size.  When you factor in the water temp and the fact that nobody is going to jump in and help you if you get in trouble.  There is no hawaiian water patrol and even if someone saw you get in trouble how quick could help arrive that was equipped with a 5mil.

Last time I saw them out at that spot they had a ski.  Doubt that sequence was taken recently, probably just recently posted.  Regardless he’s a freak.  I’d love to watch a few CT pros visit this time of year and surf the heavy stuff with that crew.  Head high is brutal enough in 40 degree water.

The caption claims it was shot on Monday, I think? I call BS, since there was no swell last Monday in NJ, as far as I know.

Some more fun, cold NJ surf in this surfline feature.  This has been a terrible winter for me though......every time there are A+ waves I seem to miss prime time.  Keep in mind when you see photos like these of NJ it usually is only really good for a couple of hours.  Last winter was the exact opposite as I don't think I missed a single prime swell.  This winter everything has been mid week.

Yea… the last three swells were on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The first one broke a lengthy flat spell… what was it, a month??? I actually burned a vacation day and made the most of it. Fairly smaller swells since then, but clean and good enough, huh…

That's a beautiful set of pics on surfline.

ESM has a ''snow day'' feature: http://www.easternsurf.com/feature_020311SnowDay/
