Greenlight future fin router bit diameter

Hi does anyone know the diameter of the futures fin router install kit from greenlight. It is in the photo attached in the middle of the jig.

I bet 12mm=width of the body of plug.

I am measuring .497” [12.64mm) on a Futures box so I would say 1/2” (12.7mm), especially if the fixture’s bushings only allow the bit to travel lengthwise.

If I rotate the center cutter of a Futures one-shot bit through the caliper, it reads .503” (12.78mm).

That’s brandy. That’s what I thought. It’s American so I thought 1/2 inch; a nice clean number (fraction). There are free templates of there router jig and the router base plate I have downloaded from the Internet. Once these have been 3D printed hopefully should just need the same diameter router but. I only thought of this after looking at my usual 20mm diameter router bit and going … Nah, something’s not right here. So 1/2 inch diameter router bit sounds right and must be used.

Regards

Yes 1/2”, i’m french, i use 12mm metric. Work well in foam.

That kit is a complicated looking kit. I don’t know that even if I read the instructions I could make it work without the bit hitting the jig. The Futures original kit is so much simpler. And the jig isn’t plastic.

It has taken me some time to work out how that kit works but I have. There is a router base plate that has a small circular cylinder about 19mm in depth that goes around the router bit (or rather the router bit goes through that). This hits the jig, or runs along side it and never the router bit. All of this can be downloaded for free on the Internet with a quick Google search. And printed at any local government library for $1 in Australia. But you need the same diameter router bit (1/2 inch) or as close to it (12mm if I can’t find 1/2 inch).

I’m good with the Futures original. Thanks anyway. But I was wondering if you could explain what all those other green pieces are for or about.
