Hey guys,
I’m currently building a 11’0" Greg Noll Jose Angel recreation.
Try to recreate that red board from the first cover of Surfer.
About to glass.
Would love to put a glass-on fin.
I’ve seen deck shots of the board, but no fin shots.
I need to at least see a similar template to complete the build.
Bill Thrailkill, I know you have knowledge about this.
I saw a similar board you shaped from that time period at Exotic Hardwood in Carlsbad. (Mitch).
He has a killer collection.
I’ll post photo’s soon.
Thanks for your help, Barry
Im no expert by any means and I cant see the logos clear enough but I think the noll board in the link below is the same template you are you are making.
You can sort of see the fin.

If I am way off here, and I probably am, just disregard this post.
Hi Barry -
Here is a scan of a photo of one of the boards showing the fin... maybe someone else is interested. I'm not sure of the fin dimensions but it is a big one.
I realized that I to own that book.
In the book they build a replica gun.
There is a photo of the fin they used.
Just as you guys discribed, the fin is basically a modernized version of an old school ‘speed
skeg’… modern foil, glass bead, and as has already been pointed out,
lots of rake.
I’m on it Monday morning.
Thanks for all the help!
