Hi Gregg, First have to appologize the wrong spelling of your name. I m planning to have a fun shape board for this summer. Its a 5’10" fun shape built out of 2lb eps foam. I read from the archieves, instead of lightweight spackle, I would like to mix cabosel with epoxy for the fault pastes. The stringer will be a 1/4" balsa, the board will be glassed with 6 oz on both side then 3 oz on both sides. I can’t get good uv resist epoxy here, so I plan to have epoxy glassing and so do the tinted job. Then hotcoat and glossing with UV polyester resin. Pls. comment my configuration, and any inputs from Swaylocks would be much appreciated. Regards,
For sealing I would use the spackle. Cabosil will add a lot of weight to the board. I would use two layers of 3 oz. glass on the bottom and two layes of 6 oz. on the deck for your glass. You can tint epoxy but be careful about finishing with polyester. Not all epoxies are compatable with polyester.
Thanks Gregg, I 'll try it in the Easter holidays. Regards, Crabie
