Just wondering why 6oz carbon, over 2 oz fiberglass, over high density foam, over another 4 oz of fiberglass. I’m sure its strong and stiff. Seems overkill. Also, why 4 oz under the high density foam. Not a lot of load there.
looks stiff to me. Thin longboards? Is carbon getting cheaper?
For a sandwich skin, double the inner weight of fiber for layer over foam is a standard. Foam may be light 1 or 0.75 pcf EPS, fused cell for commercial LOL. May be they were wrong, 2oz is over carbon. The proprietary fiberglass stringer system (PFSS commercialy LOL) looks what i do for a while now. This tech seems well inspired by starboard surfboards, with active stringer sandwich carbon etc…
Not really new technology.
Surftech / Tufflite
Got it, apparently just another twist on production floor product…
OK, Barry beat me to it… Looks like a 15 year old SurfTech add…
Guess what? Bird’s Surf Shed has some of these boards on the showroom floor…Very nice boards…buffed out and looking good…
I agree, a stiff Tufflite with a plastic structural stringer and a few carbon strips. It’s got a vent though, but Guy says it looks funky. He didn’t get them from the right place obviously.
Good one Pete
The Xeno tinted/dyed fiberglass sounds interesting. Anyboady out there ever work with it?
