It is said the imitation is the highest for of flattery, I might add that in the modern world thievery may be appropriately included.
About 10 years ago when I first started making fins with a twisted foil. It was, believe it not initiated by one of best home builders of model airplane racers in the world. I listened to him talk at length about how a plane’s speed and performance was significantly increased by the fins that he fashion in a twisted pattern. He’s a surfboard builder, only for himself and makes twisted fins of a different conformation than my for his boards, or at least he did then.
FCS has been building hype on false claims of originality for years. However I do very much like the lightness, flexibility and strength of their fussion boxes. These boxes have helped me improve fin performance.
I had been making rail fins with twisted foils for about 3 years when I contacted the local FCS rep. He invited me to leave a set of fins in his mailbox. Yeah Right. Well, needless to say there are no fools in my family. I just carried on with business as usual and continued to build a variety of prototypes, which I continue to do. Along the way I have be fortunate enought to haves several very high level surfers and shapers help me with fin template and foil development.
Big companies have a huge percentage of the working capital devoted to marketing.I would write a critique of the Surfline link on FCS so called, ne Nexus fins, but it would serve little or no purpose and have no result.
I’m a one man shop and all my marketing is done by the surfers who ride my fins.
They do it all. I just dream, design, glue and grind (-;

Halcyon, I agree with you my friend. Since 1993 the wanna bes have been a joke. But on the up side the last 3 years shows the market is smarter and wiser with their hard earn dollars and performace level. Thanks for sharing the stoke Rich(-: Mahalo, Larry
