I was wondering if this board is truly rare. Figuring around 1968, I am sure Bill T or Sammy A will have some great input. It is 9’-6" 24"w, step deck.
thanks Dave

Might be 1967. That “~” indicates a certain shaper. Bill T will know the name.
How did you acquire it? Lucky to have the fin. Most got lost or broken. Looks like the board is in very nice condition.
This was a Craigslist find, it is in very nice condition. Based on information from Bill in the past on my mini 50-50 Richard Templin was the shaper. My Hansen Superlight has the hansen hydro wedge adjustable fin also shaped by Richard. What I was really wondering was if stoked-n-boards numbers are correct, approximately 300 made. Thanks Sammy, Craigslist is a wonderful thing, I have scored some very nice boards, this one is a lot of fun on chest to head high surf.
Thanks Dave
Nice score.
True.
Bill, just wondering if the number of these shaped is really in the 300 range, or is that number way off base?
thank you Dave
Dave,
I have no way of knowing how many ‘‘PowerFlex’’ were built. 300 may, or may not, be correct. I just don’t know. IMO, the concept did not work as advertised. But, that’s just me.
Bill,
thank you very much for your reply. It really matters not, it is a fun board and I enjoy using it.
Thanks again as your opinion is well respected and appreciated.
Thank you Dave
Recently did a trade for this Master, radically different from the one I posted above. 9’-10 22 3/4" approx 2 3/4" shaped by Bill T
It blows my mind, how boards that I shaped nearly 50 yrs ago, keep popping up. It appears to be in remarkable condition.
Bill, I had it out yesterday on some clean point break,it rode wonderfully. My first experience on it was not as good because I chose to take it out in sub par conditions. Other than a little tanning on the deck its in very nice condition with all the bells and whistles. Thank you for your craftsmanship.
Well, there’s an understatement. That thing is beautiful. Classic period board with some nice design work in the finish. I’d be proud to own it.
I have seen this board in person and can say it is one fine surf craft! It always amazes me how refined the boards of the late 60’s were. They were starting to really dial it in then that damn v-bottom had to come out.
Fifty years old and in such great condition. Those boards must have been really well made. I used to own a pretty sweet old 1960’s longboard in the 80’s. I went on an extended surf-trip somewhere and lent it to someone while I was away. When I got back a year later it had vanished. It still irritates me when I tink about it now.
