My baby made by Kalani ridden at Vals.—the ancients were awesome to ride these–found that the koa was fassst–had to angle and go.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Pohaku ride his Wiliwili at Sunset, bitchin to see a return to the essential roots of the sport / lifestyle that existed 200 years ago. You can’t go forward unles you know where you started

Mahalo for the link Isaac,  Randy who bought a couple of boards from me is who posted the photo. Here's a photo of the  12' Mango board I did for Lance I told you about.

Aloha, Bob

another shot

Here's a small alaia I made from Ulu.

mahalo for posting all those pics.Talk about “retro”.Beautiful and functional  art .Would like to see pics of you guys riding them also.Need to bring back the Polynesian way of surfing also, everybody on the wave, none of the"it’s MY wave "  mentality.

Here's one of Pohaku riding in his Malo

nice pic, nice takeoff.I like try.but I gotta walk around in a malo first so tan all over!

E Aloha Kava,…

I’ve attached two of about two hundred images I have photo/postcard/sterograph/glass slides, from 1883-1920,…some day I’ll organize.

where’s the aloha in modern day surfing?,…give respect get respect.

.

Aloha, Randy

Aloha boys,…

Attached is a photo of Pohaku by David Pu’u,…also, there’s pics on the net from the old Surfers Journal avail.

Maybe Kalani has some more taken by Anne??

Kava,…here’s apic of an early line up 1900’s ,…nothing much has changed but the aloha,…but, if we look hard enough we’ll still find it .

Aloha, Randy

Always like to see your photos Randy and yes that was one of Anne's. This is one of the better clips of Rob. Happy New Years!

Kalani,…Loved the vid,…my attempts at Val’s were more like,…take off, angle,…faceplant. The koa was a bear, heavy but fast,…the guards came down from Sunset to have a laugh but were stoked to see us in the water with her.
You too have a great New Year, I’ll miss the usual fireworks in the Islands, but we’ll have a bonefire here on the farm.

Aloha, Randy
