Hello All,
In the near future I’ll be building a quiver and would like help making the transitions from size to size as seamless as possible. I’d like to ride a 6’0" one day, and the next jump on a 6’6" the next and have it not feel completely alien. I think I have a handle on how to approach outlines, thickness, width, bottom contours, rails, fin placement etc, but I’m not really sure about rocker specifics. I dug around the archives but didn’t really find much in scaling a board up/down for the purpose of a quiver… I apologize if I missed the info I’m looking for.
After a couple of tries (count of total boards built is only 6), I’ve figured out a So.Cal daily driver standard thruster board that works really well for me, a 6’2" w/ N-5" T-2.5" (basically a continuous curve with a little kick in the tail)
I’m looking to use the 6’2" as the foundation to make a 6’0", 6’4", 6’6" (and eventually some semi-guns) with no specific spots or wave types in mind, though an extended stay in Hawaii might be in my near future.
My thoughts on size/rocker:
6’0" (groveler)- same basic curve, take an 1/8 off the tail rocker, take a 1/4" off the nose rocker
6’4" (semi step-up)- rocker same as 6’2", slight flat spot at center
6’6" (step-up)- same as 6’4", add 1/8 to tail rocker, add 1/4" to nose rocker
Any guidance and/or feedback would be appreciated!!!
