Help! I think I screwed up. Tell me I'm wrong, please.

I ordered an 8,3E blank, (Eaton) from Clark Foam. The normal nose rocker is 5 7/16. I had them drop the nose rocker 2 inches from the center. Now the nose rocker will be 3 7/16. A shaper I talked to today (John Kies, Encinitas) told me I took too much out of it and that it would be hard to get a good riding egg out of it. He told me to call Clark and have them only take out one inch of nose rocker if I wanted a flatter board. Problem is, I ordered the blank a week ago, and it’s probably already glued up and ready to ship. John is a really good shaper. I hope he’s somewhat wrong about that. I thought 3 7/16 nose rocker would be alright for an 8,3 egg. So, did I screw up? I’m a little worried here. I spent 60 bucks on that blank. I hope it isn’t a total waste. What’s your opinion? Basic info: I am shaping an 8,3 egg, 17 inch nose, 22 wide, and 16 inch pintail.
