Greg Griffin or any of the northshore crew know who this shaper “Hall” is?
I have a pink(think pink) mini-gun shaped for a girl to surf sunsetpoint that I have that I’m trying to get some info on.
Its such a good board we kept it for reference
I bought it used in 1991 from surfnsail next to ku’u aina.
I think the madhatter guy at the sales counter said something about him being a lifeguard on the northshore
this was when Ed Searfoss was selling Country Surfboards under a differet label after Roger Hinds got the rights to use the old label in California.
Mahalo…
Thought I’d throw in some interesting Griffin fins (one set in G10) done in Lokbox bases for T&C which seemed strange as well as some Greg Webber fins I got from Greg and Soar in AUS.
I haven’t seen Hall in about 7 years. Last encounter he dropped in on me on the shoulder at Jacko’s on an SUP when I was in the pocket. Last I talked to him he had a house in westlock with his wife. He hung out alot at makaha. He told me he was unable to make boards because of an allergy to something in the board making process. I recall he was about 6’6", very fit, very friendly. If I see him I will get his number for you.
I met him first in 1991 at backyards windsurfing. His wife worked for the airlines and they are definately retirement age. This guy I know was a shaper and board builder and I met him essentially across the street from Ed’s old place at sunset.
