Hi all,
Mentally preparing to tackle a restoration on a 60’s Haut spoon nose longboard. I need to pull the fiberglass off, but the spoon has this beautiful fabric inlay I want to keep. What’s the best approach here? Should I try to leave in place and lay cloth over the top? As you can see there are some small repairs I’ll have to clean up first, but I really don’t want to lose the original fabric, it’s beautiful!
Thanks in advance ![]()
Better just do the best you can with the dings, re-gloss and call it good. The nose patch is too faded to play around with. If you aren’t careful and experiment around too much, the dings on the fabric will be more noticeable than they already are. The fabric patch is pretty unique and I bet Doug would remember that one.
