Help with a fin base

Hi y’all, I just picked up a new to me board yesterday and it has the center fin and 2 fin boxes and I cant for teh life of me figure out whose fin base it is. It’s from a local shaper so I could wait until tomorrow but it’s driving my absolutely crazy. Can anybody I.D. this fin base?

Looks like a Speed-Fin system. Austrailian company. I think they went belly up. But I’m sure you can still find those fins. Try online search. Good luck, Barry

Awesome

Where are you located deepc?

It’s not hard to re-route and put in some other boxes.

Just make some jell-o and pour it into the fin box. Once it’s set, pull it out and use the jell-o to create a mold to build your own fins!

…okay so maybe that wasn’t a serious suggestion, but damn that would be a tasty project

If you are in the US I am pretty sure we have some fins.

Routing out the speedfins is a pain because the surface area of the install is bigger than any other fin system so on a new board it may be a big asthetic issue.

If you are in the US I would ask the guy why he installed those if you didnt choose them. Speed has been defunct here for 5 years now??? I know they still exist in other locations. Just dissappeared from the US market

Hi

You can still get speedfins in australia from oke surfboards in vic

Those plugs are the original design which they changed ages ago, so you need the original style fins

Good luck finding them

Cheers

Guys thank you you’re all awesome!

Barry-my wife and kids got to rest yesterday after your response I stopped obsessing!

Chrisp-I’m on the 1st first coast between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. I think Acqua hit it with the point these fin bases are pretty substantial and may require a lot of material to be removed.

Shuska420-I had the same thought except I planned on using RTV as it tastes the same as Jello but lasts longer!

Acqua-I’m in the US. I’m goning to givethe shaper a call and see if he squirrelled a set away, but PM me if you have an older set laying around per Glenno’s comment about a probable design change

Glenno-Thanks I’ll be on the look out for an older set now.

What do y’all think about just glassing on a new set?

Scored 2 brand new sets! Couldnt have done it without you guys.
