Has any one out there in swaylocks land got any pics they could post regarding the laminating of wingers. I do mostly tint lams and every time I want to laminate a winger setup especially fluted or S- rail it becomes a nightmare. What is the "correct " way to cut the cloth for a tint lam winger job.

In the eyes of most pro laminators,
no wings are correct.
Ever notice most tint jobs ha no corners? Just a small over-lap at nose and tail.
Although totally possible, wings usually turn out much darker than rest of board.
Not to mention bubbles and holes to fill with colored resin.
An opauqe glass job may be the call.
I have yet to do a tint wing,so this might be all bs… but my idea was to try to just do a regular lam and just work especially hard on grinding down the lam near the wings and doing better blending before doing the other side.
Ya thanks for the replys guys. It seems there is no magic bullet. Just have to concentrate on a perfect one swipe lap on the cut areas so it all stays clean and the cloth lays flat. The shape of the winger has a huge effect as well. I have done subtle “Bump” style wingers with no cuts at all just being quite firm on the cloth like lapping a longboard nose and using the loosness off the weave. If I find out anything more I will post.
