I need help remaking a board I shaped for a friend. the first board i made him was 5'6 x 19 3/16 x 2 3/16, and now he wants that same board but 5'8 instead. I was wondering if there is a basic equation for making this second board. I know many shapers have many models with different heights and am wondering how they figure out the ratio. Any help would be great thanks
Take a lot of measurements and Multiply them up accordingly?
I would say don't over think it. For your width and thickness I'd bump it up only slightly 1/8th to 1/4 at most on width.. The difference between a 66" long board and a 68" long board is minute in the grander scheme of things. Best advice would be to talk to the friend and figure out his real needs and if there are things that could be improved over the original.
